Description

All activities at each event are voluntary. Come & participate in all of them or just come & hang out with everyone else. No one is required to do anything, not even talk to anyone else. Each evening will start with a round of speed friending (for those that want to participate). Take the pressure off of meeting new people with a 4 minute limit on your conversation. We’ll even give you a few suggested topics to talk about in case you can’t think of anything yourself. So even if there’s an awkward silence, you know it will end soon. Next we’ll go on to the main event for the evening. Each evening will have a different activity: Friday, July 29, 7-9pm Games Meeting new people is easier when doing something besides just trying to talk. Play board or card games. Saturday, August 13, 5-7pm Crafts Come together & make something. It doesn’t have to be ‘good’ to be fun! Remember, that an archeologist told Kurt Vonnegut that he didn’t “think being good at things is the point of doing them” and that “practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow.” Sunday, August 28, 3-5pm Mindfulness Move & breathe in community. Try all abilities yoga, meditation for a loud mind, or simply color. Bring a towel or a mat, and a pillow & blanket, or whatever props you’d like. Chairs provided for those who want to do chair yoga. Finish the evening off with no pressure to stay in contact with anyone you meet. No one will ask for your contact info. But if you want, you can give them yours. Events are for anyone 18+ who identifies under the nonbinary & genderqueer umbrella. All events will be at the Garage at ish (behind Caracole) 4138 Hamilton Ave Cincinnati, OH 45223 Contact elliotk(at)transadvocacycouncil.org with any questions
