In this gathering, expect fun warm-up vocal exercises and a whole lot of singing our hearts out loud. I’ll teach songs in the oral tradition, using call and response, so no need to read sheet music or know lyrics beforehand.
Songs shared are in turns warm and soulful, folk and spiritual, personal and political. Many are inspired by Nature and the wild world that supports us. There will also be an occasional cover song, kirtan song or yoga chant.
Open to all who love to sing, regardless of background or experience, from those new to singing to those who can lend their confidence to the group.
We meet outside behind the Dolores Public Library. The location sits right on the Dolores River with a small patio and garden area. Parking is available in the lot and along the street out front.
There is a free community event with a monthly offering.
The in-person song circle meets on Saturdays either in the afternoon or morning, depending on the month. On April 23, May 21, and September 24, we start at 1pm. On June 25, July 30, and August 27, we start at 9:30am. We’ll meet together for 1.25-1.5 hours.
Please visit my website for more information about singing together, www.janestep.com/song-circles or visit the Dolores Public Library Event page on their website http://doloreslibrary.org/events/.
I look forward to singing with you.
