Participants will learn how to operate a laser cutter and how the technology works. They will learn how to set up a file to be cut and engraved and how to calibrate the machine to use it. At the end of the class, each participant will be able to cut and/or engrave on a material of their choosing. Want to learn how to cut with the precision of a laser? Or how about engraving intricate designs? Come take this introductory course at the LaunchSpace makerspace to learn how to use a laser cutter! Participants will learn how to operate a laser cutter and how the technology works. They will learn how to set up a file to be cut and engraved and how to calibrate the machine to use it. At the end of the class, each participant will be able to cut and/or engrave on a material of their choosing. Upon completion of the class, participants will be able to use the Laser Cutter under the supervision of a Robotics & IT Steward. Items to bring In: Please bring any ideas on something you'd like to cut or engrave at the end of the class. AGE: 12+, under 18 with caregiver INSTRUCTOR: C.A. Sizemore
