Description
This is a Real Estate Seminar that is NOT about buying or selling property of any sort. It's not about interest rates, inventory levels, whether we are in a Buyer's Market or a Sellers Market, how many square feet you have in your home, the number of bedrooms or how many bathrooms. We will be discussing the emotional factors that come into play when a person is deciding whether to buy or sell a house, change jobs or companies, get married or divorced, have children, or take an extended vacation. We'll talk about how our fear of the unknown has such a powerful impact on almost every decision we make, more often than not without our knowledge of the dynamics at play. The larger the decision seems to be, or the larger the implications it has on our lives, the more opportunity we give this fear to rear its ugly head. Fear of the unknown is more commonly understood as the extreme discomfort we feel whenever we venture outside our "comfort zones." It causes us to to create obstacles that get in the way of our achieving that which we most want in our lives. It most commonly sounds like this: I don't think I'll buy that house I've been looking for because interest rates are going up and I think I'll wait to see what happens. That new job sounds like a great opportunity and the money is better, but the commute is so much longer, gas prices have gone through the roof, and what if I end up not liking the company?I really think I have a chance for a great long-term relationship. But what if I find out I don't really like her after we move in together? In the previous examples, the problem is not the interest rates, inflation, the commute, the other company, or the flourishing relationship. The problem is the FEAR. It keeps all the reasons you shouldn't do something running through your head, growing more powerful by the day. And you'll learn that recognizing how much you are allowing this fear to keep you in restraints, then making a firm decision to forge ahead, no matter what, is the absolute best thing in the world you can do for yourself.. You'll discover there was never anything REAL to be afraid of in the first place, you'll feel a sense of mental and emotional freedom you never thought possible, and you'll find yourself experiencing a life that is way beyond the wildest dreams you ever had prior to making your decision. You will also have learned a most powerful lesson that you can then apply to similar situations as they arrive in your life. This unusual gathering will feature three speakers who have experienced the terrible bite of debilitating and unrelenting fear when they were faced with a significant life changing decision. You'll hear what it was like for them to experience such abject terror, prior to making a decision that would change their lives forever. And you will hear what it feels like to have walked through the valley of the shadow of death, and come out the other side, stronger, more powerful, resolute, and happier than they ever thought possible. Renee Tompkins decided to sell her condo, change a position she has grown quite comfortable with for something similar but different, and is moving to to Kentucky at the end of August. Linda McDonough has been living in the same house for over 20 years and lost her husband and her parents while living there. She recognized the fear that she has used to hold herself back from enjoying her life. So, she is clearing out 20 yeas worth of accumulation, getting the necessary repairs done, and is going to sell her house without even knowing exactly where she is going to live next. And she has never been happier.George Wallace bought his three-decker in Dorchester at the age of 26 when interest rates were north of 14% and he had no idea what he was doing. He started a Printing Company from scratch, in the middle of a recession. And there are many more stories from a man who exemplifies living a life in which fear has largely been tossed to the side.
