On August 6th, Voices for Social Justice will present a choral concert entitled “Lay Down Your Weapons: A Plea for an End to Gun Violence.” Through choral music and spoken word, this concert addresses the ways in which gun violence impacts communities of youth and our country at large. This program features middle school, high school, collegiate, and professional singers whose combined work will champion gun reform movements and raise funds for Not My Generation, a national organization uniquely focused on localized intersectional gun violence prevention advocacy for and by young adults. This concert will take place on August 6th at 7:30pm at Los Altos United Methodist Church in Long Beach. The event is free and open to the public.
