Description

Constitution Lakes in southwest DeKalb County is the site of a late 19th century brickworks. The ponds are actually flooded clay-pits dug by the South River Brick Company. This is now an outstanding wetland area. A few of the topics to be discussed include the Native American connection to the nearby Soapstone Ridge and Atlanta brick-making history. Venturing further, we will tour the Doll’s Head Trail, with artwork made from items found in the park. The Details This tour is about 2.5 miles long over mostly level ground and will take about 2 hours.Restrooms are not available. Please meet in the parking lot. Tickets are required; no walkups allowed. Face masks are currently optional for tours, however you are welcome to wear a mask if it makes you more comfortable. The tour is subject to cancellation at the guide's discretion due to inclement weather at the tour starting point. You will be notified via email.Interest in a private group tour?
