We will discuss and demonstrate various garden styles at the Los Angeles EcoVillage as you walk about our gardens with us. We'll talk about the Fall garden and what's needed to prepare for Winter crops.
Our vegetable and flower beds- and over fifty fruiting trees - surround social and play areas. You will observe various water-wise practices including large rain harvesting tanks that store irrigation water for dry spells.
We’ll demonstrate how several composting methods - including vermi-composting - support regenerative gardening. The chickens may demonstrate their roles, and we’ll talk about how regeneration is supported by attracting birds, bees and other pollinators.
You will be invited to socialize with us as you sample solar baked snacks (g.f, vegan) and garden-herb tea.
Sweet potato vines are beautiful, edible and grow well here. We'll harvest them in the Fall.
Before we add compost to regenerate the garden soil, chickens eat composting insects that would harm garden plants.
