The Sons of Norway Scandia Lodge of Waconia, Minnesota is proud to present the world premiere of Yust for Fun, a dramatized musical revue featuring selections from the repertoire of "The Olson Sisters," Norwegian-American singers and entertainers who were popular during the first quarter of the twentieth century.
The Olson Sisters developed a unique act that featured light vocal classics and Norwegian folk songs, interspersed with comic stories about immigrants adapting to life in America. This allowed the Olson Sisters, who were fluent in both English and Norwegian, to help their audiences bridge the gap between the Old World and the New through sentimental song and gentle humor.
Sponsored in part by a cultural development grant from the Sons of Norway Foundation, Yust for Fun will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18 at the Chaska Community Center Theatre in Chaska, Minnesota. All seats are general admission. Tickets are $15 and include complimentary beer, wine and desserts served prior to the performance, starting at 6:30.
