Join Chef Aybars, of Social Sloth Bakery, as we present the first on a series of cooking workshops that explore all the wonderful cuisines of neighborhood. This class will focus some traditional recipes using an often overlooked garden staple found in many dishes: PURSLANE! This common leafy vegetable can be found all over the world and has been heralded as highest source of Omega-3, outside of fish. Chef Aybars will teach how to properly handle these ingredients in Turkish dishes as you learn to make two types of nutritious salads and Kiymali Semizotu, a seasoned beef and rice dish. Afterwards the class will take a seat at the chef’s table to eat dinner, learn about each other, and Turkish cuisine!
