Description
Our family is searching for a regular babysitter [nights, weekends mostly] for our 9 year old son who has Autism and our Neurotypical 6 year old son. Our babysitter who we have had for 3 years needs to scale back so we're hoping to find someone to fill the role.
9 year old son is affectionate, playful and non speaking. He communicates with a handful of words and gestures. He attends a specialized school for children with moderate to severe Autism. He loves Elmo, his Ipad, being pushed in his stroller, and snuggling.
6 year old son is a typical kiddo, enjoys games, Legos and Star Wars.
For this role, the ideal person would have a background with ABA, be in school to be a BCBA, or have experience working with kiddos who fit the profile of our older son. Because our older son loves being pushed in a stroller, it is helpful if you're energetic enough to do so. He weighs roughly 60 pounds. Please don't apply unless you have had experience working directly with kiddos like him. If you work in a school setting with kids like him, this is a bonus. If you're in Graduate School for your BCBA or similar degree, this would also be a good fit.
Babysitters become like family to us. For the right individual, we will pay up to 35$ an hour.
We also have 2 dogs in the home. One big, one little. Both non shedding. Non smokers only and please be fully vaccinated.
If you're interested, send an email with your background and let me know why you'd be a good fit. I don't need references now but would ask for at least two if we decide to move forward. I would also be happy to put you in touch with our current babysitter to chat more about what it is like to work with our family.
Thank you so much and I look forward to hearing from you!
