Our staff has cultivated a pleasant and caring atmosphere combined with professionalism that instills confidence with every transaction.Job Summary The Loan Officer is responsible for evaluating, authorizing, recommending approval of, and closing loan applications for primarily residential and commercial real estate loan customers. Essential Functions:Contact companies or individuals to market the products and services of the Bank and actively solicit new loansMeet with loan applicants to gather personal financial information and answer questions about the application processExplain different types of loans and the terms of each type to applicantsObtain, verify, and analyze the applicant’s financial informationReview loan agreements to ensure that they comply with federal and state regulationsApprove loan applications or refer them to management for a decisionCommunicate with loan processing and servicing staff regarding the status of pending or existing loansExplain and collect required loan documentation during loan closingAnswer customer inquiries throughout the life of the customer’s loanContact borrowers who fail to make their payments on time to recover uncollected debtAct as an ambassador for the Bank by participating in community, civic, and philanthropic activities within the Bank’s primary market areaComply with all lending laws, regulations, policies, and proceduresUtilize a structured calling program that generates an agreed-to minimum of new loan growth and fee generation on a monthly basisOther duties as assigned by supervisorQualifications and Education Requirements:Prefer Bachelors’ Degree in a field related to Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business AdministrationPrefer those who have obtained a Mortgage Loan Originator license Prefer minimum of 2-5 years of previous lending experienceYears of experience may be substituted for education requirements or related work experienceThis job requires skills needed in a typical office environment.
