During these summer months, we have access to some really amazing light, but it can still be unpredictable. Some days are cloudy, some days we want to just add a bit more. In this live demo, attendees will learn the essentials to get started in using off-camera flash including: The gear from lights, to stands, and wireless remotesHow to add a natural-looking fill light by balancing ambient light and flashUnderstanding High-Speed Sync (HSS)Attendees will leave this experience more confident in using off-camera flash and finding great compositions, and backgrounds. WHERE TO MEET Green Lake Park, in front of the Green Lake Boathouse & Cafe 7351 East Green Lake Dr. N. #5303, Seattle, WA 98115 PARKING There is parking at the community center or street parking in the vicinity. PUBLIC TRANSIT Route 62 drops off near this location. WHAT TO BRINGCamera with at least one lens, a memory card, and a fully charged battery. Recommended lens focal length, 50mm or 85mm.EXPERIENCE EXPERIENCE LEVEL - PHOTOGRAPHY: Intermediate EXPERIENCE LEVEL - LIGHTING - Beginner to Intermediate Attendees must have an understanding of aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and how to navigate their camera menus. Mirrorless camera owners must know how to manage flash settings, in their cameras, as well as disable live view and silent shutter modes.
