Join us for a five-course dinner featuring wines from highly acclaimed winery Weingut Max Ferd Richter, paired with Hideaway Catering from Chef Amanda Elmore and crew. Guiding the evening's experience will be: Dirk Richter, Winemaker Founded in 1680 as a wine export company, today the estate of Max Ferdinand Richter is owned by the same family that first purchased vineyards in Brauneberg in 1643. The winery is managed and operated by Dr. Dirk Max Ferd. Richter, the ninth generation of his family to do so. The tenth generation – Constantin Max Ferd. Richter – also works at the estate, continuing this strong family tradition. At Richter we believe that great wine comes from the vineyard, not the cellar. With this in mind they strive for precision in their daily viticultural work. The challenge of cultivating vines on the steep, slate slopes of Mosel is overcome by fastidious handwork, small crop sizes, all-natural fertilizers and sustainable farming practices. Matt Strassman, General Manager & Wine Buyer at Parkway liquor Rochester native and UB graduate, Matt spent some time working in marketing in NYC before returning to Rochester to start this business with his father, Jeff. His passion for wine is unparalleled. When his nose isn’t in a glass, it’s in a book about wine-making or the history of wine. He strives to learn something new about wine every day and uses all he has learned to select the best possible wines from all around the world for the shelves here at Parkway.
