I started in California where I was born playing in surf bands. I moved to San Antonio Texas to play Western swing, Played almost 2 years with asleep at the wheel. Played 4 years with little Jimmy Dickens. Was on the road for the last 14 years with BR549. Also have work for Win Stuart Verne Gosden, Tony Booth, Johnny Russell and several others. Been living in Nashville for 40 years. Lots of studio work.
About Mike Appleman, drummer and percussionist:
Started playing drums at age 3 because of my father who was a professional keyboard player with people like Red Nichols and the Five Pennies and Paul Whiteman. Studied hand technique with Murray Spivack, Drums with Jerry McKenzie Norm Jeffries, Victor Feldman, Casey Schurrell. Played with Al Wilson (Number one records, "Show and Tell", "The Snake", Walter Orange, "Brick House" "Night Shift" The Tokens "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" Richard Berry, "Louie Louie" Bob Wills Jr, Harold Land Jr.
From Avent Lane, bassist and vocalist:

Played /performed with Mac Wiseman, Kitty Wells & Johnnie Wright, Billy Walker, Opened for Ricky Scaggs, Jimmy C. Newman and many (too numerous to list here) of the top players around Nashville.
Helped form and played in the “Nickle Johnson Band” ( 80,s era R&B Nashville based group).
Helped form and played in the group “Straight Ahead” (90’era Honky Tonk bank)
This group was very popular and “opened” for various major acts such as Mel Mcdaniels,
Jerry Clower….etc.
