Looking for added support for aging mom

We, a local family, are looking for an engaged, creative and tech-savvy problem solver to assist our 80-year-old mom, who lives in a secured, active senior community in Ballston, VA. This is not a health aide/caregiver or a housekeeper position. We want to add a “team member” to support our aging parent to maintain her vibrance and independence. Must have experience with working with older adults with mild cognitive impairment. While aging and a slow walker, she is fully physically healthy. COVID-19 vaccination required. Job duties include: • Supporting technology use - knowledge of Chromebook preferred, basic computer skills a must • Assistance going through boxes of items / paperwork • Ongoing organization in her condo unit • Assistance getting to/from doctor and other appointments • Note taking at appointments • Email assistance and organization • Encouraging / accompanying to exercise classes • Assist in stocking her fridge with basic items (her dinners are provided by the building where she lives) • Assist with taking her on her errands and to do activities she would enjoy, as possible Hours: Negotiable with family; between 5-10 hours per week (possibility for more hours as you are available and as/if new needs arise) Rate: $20 to $30 per hour, depending on experience Requirements: References, relevant past experience, complete background check and fingerprinting Time period: Able to commit for at least 6 months, potential/ideal for longer if it’s a good fit If interested, please send an email detailing relevant experience.
