What is self-publishing? How does one self-publish a book? This two hour course will serve as an overview of the different methods of self-publishing, updated for the 2022 publishing landscape. It will be facilitated by Meg Reid and Kate McMullen. We will cover the process and costs of hiring a designer and editor, printing the actual books and getting them into stores, and how to avoid the many scams and predatory printers that are present in the marketplace. You likely worked for years to write your book and have it published but most authors are more comfortable writing their book than marketing it. This class will focus on what authors need to do in the months before publication to help get the word out and lay the foundation for a successful book release. A Q&A period will close out the seminar.
