Thunder Mountain Trap & Skeet Located in Ringwood State Park, we are the closest shooting range to NYC, only 25 miles from the Tappan Zee Bridge. Thunder Mountain is a shotgun & clay target only shooting range that is open to the public. No experience or licensing required. Just show up and shoot! Thunder Mountain is open year round and is equipped with lighting for night shooting. "Cape Fly Away Loop" at Palisades Interstate Park After lunch, we will hike "Cape Fly Away Loop" at Palisades Interstate Park. This relatively short hike makes a great introduction to Palisades hiking for hikers of all ages. Begin at the Kearney House at the north end of the Alpine Picnic Area. Head north up the white-blazed Shore Trail behind Alpine Pavilion. This is the steepest section of your trip, but it soon levels off at the intersection with the orange-blazed Closter Dock Trail.  * Location: Palisades Interstate Park, NJ * Duration: 1.5 hours at moderate pace * Distance: 3 Miles * Difficulty: 2 out of 10 * Views: 4.0 out of 5 (Hudson River and Palisades Cliffs)Trail Depart Date: Shown above; Please arrive 15 minutes earlier.
