Description
This Off-Grid Design CAMP event is the first of its kind for Anchorage Design Week. The Anchorage Museum is excited to organize and host this design-centric camp experience set in an epic Alaska landscape at Camp Fire Alaska's beautiful youth education facility, Camp K. This road-accessible adventure will force participants to unplug from the digital realm and encourage analog connections. For registered participants, the weekend will include 2-nights of accommodation at Camp K on Kenai Lake, a curated series of designer-led workshops on Friday, August 26th and Saturday, August 27th, and a delectable meal prepared by off-grid chef Clayton Jones and his team from Ember Foods. Workshops will include hands-on creative explorations and skill builds themed around classic youth camp activities that tap into the expertise of fellow designers and participants. This special event offers the option for registered participants to bring +1's, which might be a partner, pal, protégé, or family members. A limited number of +1 Camper registrations can be selected as an add-on to Participant registration. +1 Camper registration will include accommodations and a place at the table for the amazing meal on Saturday evening. Participant Registration Cost: $350/person +1 Camper add-on: $175/person Camp K is a smoke, drug, and alcohol-free campus. Off-site consumption by legal age participants and +`1's may be available at nearby restaurants and taprooms located in Cooper Landing. We thank you for your understanding. More about Anchorage Design Week, including schedule of events and other links: www.anchoragedesignweek.org Anchorage Design Week: August 24-28, 2022 Anchorage Design Week is an annual gathering of creative minds to promote and provoke design, collaborate, and imagine the future of our city and the landscapes and lifeways of Northern regions. Anchorage Design Week presents new faces and phenomena in design and highlights both local and international conversations through professional development opportunities and public events. This year’s forum prompts questions, considers processes, and suggests possible solutions for how systems, objects and experiences are designed, executed, repaired, modified, undone, or reconfigured. Anchorage Design Week is a project of the Anchorage Museum in collaboration with the Alaska Design Forum and AIGA Alaska.
