With very heavy heart we are looking to rehome our dog Arthur (aka Artie). He is an Australian Kelpie & Black Lab mix, neutered, current on vaccines, and approx. 10 months old. Unfortunately we fear we will no longer be able to meet his needs as our family grows. We’ve had him since he was about 10 weeks old. The shelter we got him from thought he was a black lab/German shepherd cross, but as he’s grown it’s obvious that he is half Kelpie. His veterinarian also believes he is a Kelpie/Lab mix. He has all of the Kelpie energy & intelligence, but loves like a lab. He is EXCELLENT with our one year-old son, absolutely loves other dogs, and wants to play with cats but is not aggressive towards them. His herding instincts are strong. His endless energy and extreme smarts would make him a great dog for agility training, or for a farm. He does best with the mental stimulation of another dog. He’s got some basic commands down, but requires an experienced & delligent trainer to continue on the path to being an excellent boy. He can be destructive if his mind and body are not stimulated enough. We want to find him the perfect forever home. Rehoming fee applies to ensure he goes to a good person/family.
