Description

Delivery Driver Position Open for Rise Over Run Wine (For more information about our company, see our website: riseoverrunwine.com) We are a small wine importer and distributor operating across North Carolina out of our Woodfin warehouse. We deliver to restaurants, bars, and retail. The typical delivery day consists of loading up the van (dodge ram promaster, extra in height and length) in the morning and then executing the delivery route. Outside of deliveries, you would also be packing wine orders as well as putting wine shipments away in our warehouse. Experience and Skills: -Ability to pick up and move around 40-50lb cases of wine with MUCH repetition, hence you must be in good physical condition especially regarding your back - the boxes are not heavy individually, but you will be moving a lot of them around so please consider whether you are up for that as it will comprise a large portion of your daily activity -Prior driving or delivery experience is highly preferred, though not necessarily required if you have a clean driving record and are comfortable driving a larger van and have any kind of experience with that -Basic computer skills for printing orders, logging delivery information, etc -Ability to design your delivery route efficiently -Excellent organizational skills, organizing your time, organizing invoices and checks, logging delivery information, etc -Interest in wine and what we do would be a great perk! Requirements: -The Charlotte delivery day can run from 10 to 12 hours, so please be comfortable with a long shift (which includes 4.5 hours commute there and back to Charlotte) -Must have some flexibility in terms of daily hours. Some days begin at 6:30am (currently Thursdays), while others at 8 or 9am. Also best if you do not have a firm cut-off time on the Charlotte delivery day, and thus have flexibility with ending time. Thursdays will go late, generally around 6 or 6:30, but potentially 7:30 or 8 (though rare). Mondays will often be much shorter days if the rest of the week fills out your hours -Although this is a labor intensive, driver and warehouse position, you must also have good customer service skills and a friendly attitude in varying circumstances, as you will be representing the company when you are out making deliveries -Comfort with variability. No two days will be exactly the same, so please be comfortable with plans changing according to the daily needs and circumstances (within the agreed work hours). Pay: DOE, $18/$20, Salaried or Hourly to be discussed, 35/40hrs Monday through Friday, no weekends and major holidays off Looking to begin training someone early to mid August. **To be considered for this position, please send an email with your resume and relevant work experience attached or pasted into the body of the email, along with a short introduction of yourself and why you think you’d be a good fit for us (and why we’d be a good fit for you!). The more information the better! Responses will be made only to those who've include resume information and short introduction**
