Rehoming older dog

7yr old pit bull terrier mix, spayed female, just received rabies shot. I don't want to give her up but my other dogs are not accepting her (she is my sons dog and he is being deployed...and yes he is aware I am rehoming her). She needs someone who is home alot or can take her with them (she would even be a great jobsite dog since she is not afraid of power tools and loves being in the garage with me and loves being in the car or even someone who travels alot on the road). She is an indoor dog and used to being on the couch and snuggling so please don't try to change that. She has done well with a cat in the past but I don't know if she would do well with all cats. She needs to be in a single dog household! I have 3 other dogs and they are not getting along which is why I need to rehome her. She may get along with the right dog since she did fine with another dog but she is used to being the only dog normally. I am asking a rehoming fee and will be screening to make sure she goes to the right home. She is part of my family and we are devastated to have to give her up. And before I get bombarded with emails, we already looked into foster programs but there haven't been any openings or we would have done this so my son could get her back when he returns from deployment.
