SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — Is it time to undeck your halls? Chances are your Christmas tree now lacks its luster, is shedding needles, or looks more like a dead stick, chances are it's time to undecorate and set it out for recycling. Residents of San Juan Capistrano have one month to recycle their dried-out Christmas trees, according to CR&R. The recycling and waste collection service for much or Orange County described the process for proper Christmas tree recycling. "Christmas tree collection is from December 26 through January 31," according to a CR&R spokesperson. "Please place your tree curbside on your service day and our tree collectors will come by in a separate truck, there is no need to call the office." Set it out by your pickup day the week of January 31, 2021. How to prepare your Christmas tree for post-holiday disposal: Your dried-out tree should be cut in sections no longer than 5 feet. Be sure to have removed all lights, ornaments, and the tree stand before placing them at the curbside.
