Certificate in Nonprofit Management Program Fund Development** Dates: Thursdays, 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., October 6, 13, 20, and 27 (via Zoom) Instructor: Kay Larrick, M.N.A., CFRE, Executive Director, The Carpenter's Place Description: Develop the skills you need to succeed in raising funds to sustain and enhance the mission of your organization. This course provides a comprehensive overview of diverse funding streams, core elements of fund development planning, and the stages through which a donor moves as their financial commitment increases. Building relationships with donors, identifying and cultivating prospects, and donor stewardship are some of the most important things a nonprofit leader can do to ensure sustainability. A special focus will be placed upon the key elements for success that are essential to every form of fundraising. You will discover best practices to leverage all of your resources, set goals in relation to organizational goals, capacity and your strategic plan, and learn about the development process, tools available to access new funding sources, and ways to assess and improve current fund development practices. Instructor: Kay Larrick, M.N.A., CFRE is a 30-year veteran in the field of fundraising. Her experience includes raising millions of dollars through successful grant writing, event management, annual giving programs, special appeals, and working with major donors. Kay believes the golden thread that runs through these processes is building good relationships. Kay has a Bachelor’s degree in business from Rockford University and a Masters in Nonprofit Administration from the University of Notre Dame. Kay has earned the designation of CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive). Kay currently serves as the Executive Director at Carpenter’s Place where she has worked for the past seventeen years.
