Sri Ganesha Temple, Plano will be having a Vilakku (Dheepa) Puja on Friday (Aadi Velli), July 29, 2022 at 6:15 pm. If you would like to participate in the Vilakku Puja, please Register your name, and pay the sponsorship fee ($51) as follows: a) You can Register in the link 51$- Deepa/Vilakku puja – Friday,July 29th https://sriganeshatempleplano.org/maasa-mahotsavam-2022/ Sri Ganesha Temple, Hindu Temple of North Texas (sriganeshatempleplano.org) b) You can also Register and make a payment in person at the front desk at Sri Ganesha Temple, 6508 K-Ave, Plano, TX 75074 (Phone: 972-943-9543) After you sign-up, please bring the following Puja items for the Vilakku Puja: 1. Kuthu Vilakku / Kamatchi Vilakku preferably, or any Vilakku other than Agal (flat clay) Vilakku; Oil, Wicks, a Match box, Kumkum, Flowers, Fruits, and a fire-proof plate upon which Vilakku needs to be placed. The Puja Format: 1. Puja starts sharp at 6:15 pm, so please be in at 6:00 pm to get situated. 2. The Priest will chant/lead Lalitha Sahasranamam, and the devotees will do puja to the Vilakku in front of them using kumkum, askhathai and flower petals. (Devotees can chant as well using their Cell Phones, or using Temple provided hardcopy booklets) 3. The Priest will later conclude with Subramanya Ashtothram to Lord Subramanya. 4. After Mahamangala Aarathi, Puja participants will be given Puja Naivedyam (Sundal & Sweet Pongal) in snack-size packs.
