Description

Join us for a lovely evening outdoors as we practice qi gong and walking meditation, starting at Umstead Park. We will begin at 7pm with a welcome and introduction to this style of qi gong (Spring Forest Qi Gong) and then about 20-30 minutes of practice. We will then be introduced to the technique of walking meditation; opening to our sense perceptions and enjoying being in the present moment as we walk along nature trails. We'll end with a closing circle. All are welcome at whatever level of experience. Come as you are. No need to bring anything other than whatever you would normally do for a walk outdoors. This event will be led by Rhea Colmar, RN/BSN, LMBT. Rhea Colmar combines her experience in dance, qi gong, massage & bodywork, and public health nursing with mindfulness & meditation. Practicing and studying Tibetan Buddhist approaches to meditation since 2000, Rhea started Open Sky Meditation Community in 2020 to bring together a variety of mindfulness/meditation practices. Rhea is an approved continuing education provider by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork for Mindfulness classes.
