Day 1: ADVANCED SEARCH AND SEIZURE (8 hrs) This is Blue to Gold’s flagship course. We designed this training for law enforcement officers who want to master search and seizure case law to be proactive and legally defensible. The instruction is eye-opening, fast-paced, and uses relevant case-law to explain the legal aspects of searches and seizures in federal and state-specific jurisdictions. Day 2: ADVANCED TRAFFIC STOPS (8 hrs) This course focuses on legal doctrines involving searching and seizing a vehicle, a skill every officer needs to possess. Whether you are fresh out of the academy, or two years before retirement, this training will hone your skills to an expert on traffic stop case law. Day 3: (8:30-12:30): REAL WORLD DE-ESCALATION (4 hrs) Decades of police training have made officers experts at using force to overcome resistance. But less attention has been paid to training officers in mastering de-escalation. It's clear that overcoming resistance is not enough. This training will give you practical and workable tactics to help diffuse escalated encounters. Upon completion, officers will have core skills to not only not needlessly escalate tense situations but de-escalate them too. Day 3: (1:30-5:30): DUTY TO INTERVENE (4 hrs) If we are to police others, we must also police ourselves. The law requires real-time intervention whenever a fellow officer, from any agency, goes down the wrong path and violates the law. Failing to intervene may result in termination, criminal charges, and civil rights lawsuits. Every law enforcement professional must attend this course – their jobs and freedom depend on it.
