The position requires applicants to be fit, well-grounded with a strong safety focus in various outdoor and remote work environments. Activities are sometimes carried out in extreme weather conditions and any candidate will need to take this into account when assessing their own suitability for the position. The work will be physically demanding with extended periods of operation in cold conditions where lifting and carrying backpack loads will be required. This is a contract position for approximately 2 few weeks commencing in early to mid August 2022. Duties of Field Assistants - Geology * Field Mapping and Soil/Rock sampling programs * Assisting and supporting field geologist(s) * Operating and maintaining field equipment as required including GPS * Assisting to establish and maintain supporting Mobile camps * Bear watch and guard The Successful Candidates will: * Be a US resident with working visa status and ideally living in Alaska * Ideally have prior experience in a field-based role, but not essential * Be comfortable and capable of undertaking typical fieldwork associated with mineral exploration in remote areas * Be computer literate, with competence with the Microsoft Office suite a minimum * Demonstrate dedication to operation with a high level of safety Work will be carried out in remote sites with no current established base camp. There will be an opportunity for seasonal work during exploration drilling in 2023 and beyond. We also have geologist roles available.
