MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester police detectives and a crime scene van are on the scene where the body of a woman was found Wednesday in a parking lot. Auburn and Derry firefighters initially responded to a call for an unresponsive female in the parking lot. The person was declared deceased at the scene. It was determined that the location is actually in Manchester, so Manchester police were notified. The NH Attorney General's Office issued a press release saying "Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald and Manchester Police Chief Allen D. Aldenberg announce that officials are responding to the untimely death of an adult female located off of Route 28 near Lake Massabesic in Manchester, New Hampshire. " Throughout the morning Wednesday, multiple MPD Detectives worked at the scene documenting the scene and collecting evidence. The body was covered and located towards the back of the parking lot. Evidence markers were placed in the parking lot in an area extending about 50 feet from the body. The rail-trail was taped off with crime scene tape and detectives could be seen checking the area for evidence. Detectives also collected some items in a brown box located close to the ball field adjacent to the parking lot. MPD officers deployed a drone to assist in documenting the area. An MPD K9 Officer with his K9 searched a large area around the ballfield and in the wood line. The K9 has many skills but is trained to locate ballistic evidence. The body was removed and was transported to the Office of the NH Medical Examiner where an autopsy will be performed. No time frame was given but the autopsy results traditionally are released with 48-hours. Additional information will be released as it becomes available. ©Jeffrey Hastings www.frameofmindphoto.com/news.
