HAWK Contracting is a premier pavement marking and signage company that works on all levels of projects from streets, parking lots, schools, parking garages, hospital, airports and beyond. We are currently seeking an experienced striper to join our team. Pavement Marking Techs/General Laborers perform tasks involving physical labor at parking lots, roadways and construction sites by operating one or several types of maintenance equipment. This position may also require signage, striping and swppp work in addition to routine repair and maintenance of equipment. This job description is intended to describe the general content and requirements for the performance of this job. RESPONSIBILITIES -Maintaining a clean job site: picking up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards -Set up and remove construction signs and traffic control items at the job site -Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on equipment and refer defects or needed repairs to the supervisor -Keep an accurate inventory of supplies and stencils -Handling and storing materials -Loading and unloading trucks and hauling and hoisting materials Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed; bringing problems to the attention of the Foreman, Safety Director, or HR Manager -Make, transport, install, remove and other duties as required for installation of SWPPP devices -Operate a variety of equipment (including but not limited to striping vehicles, machinery, and forklifts) in the installation and maintenance of traffic control markings, including paint truck, thermoplastic applicators, paint stripers, and obliteration equipment -Read and layout per blueprints -Prepare, clean, sweep, and layout work area -Stripe, paint and maintain lane lines, center lines, crosswalks, turn arrows, stop bars, railroad crossings, parking stalls, curbs, and other pavement markings -Parking block installations- install using both handheld and motorized equipment operate and maintain equipment -Perform other related duties as required QUALIFICATIONS -Legally eligible to work in the United States -Daily access to automobile in working condition or adequate alternative transportation. Proof of meeting Arizona State requirements regarding auto licensing, driver’s license, and liability insurance, if applicable -Ability to pass a drug test – HAWK Contracting is a drug-free environment -Ability to pass a criminal background check -Ability to work from construction maps and plans, follow layouts specified by customer or engineer -Ability to understand (ADA) guidelines for Municipal Specifications -Ability to lift to 50 pounds multiple times in a shift -Willingness to travel throughout Arizona -Ability to work well with others -No experience necessary
