Awesome Coonhound for Rehoming

Description
We found this girl as a stray in South Dakota and she has been so awesome. No one claimed her and she doesn’t have a microchip. Doesn’t appear to be spayed and will need to be more fully vetted. I’d really like to see her go to a home that is the perfect fit. She’s close to a year old and is by nature, the best coonhound I’ve ever met. Bar none. As someone who has owned coonhounds in the past, I cannot say enough about how special this dog is. Non-neurotic, non-destructive. I can trust her not to destroy my house when I leave, which is pretty unusual for a young dog picked up as a stray, especially a hound. Has a high prey drive, but not so high that I have to worry about her around my four chihuahuas, even at feeding time. But it is high enough that she is NOT cat friendly!! I cannot stress this enough. A cat free home is non-negotiable. She has great recall, especially for a dog with no name. Super playful and happy around ALL other dogs and has proven to be very social. LOVES to make new friends, whether it’s other dogs or humans. Like more than anything else in the world. Loves horses as well. More than any dog I’ve ever met in my life. No weird quirks that I’ve seen thus far. Does need a bit of training and work on manners, but nothing that any other young dog wouldn’t need. The only time she howls seems to be when she catches sight of another dog that she wants to say hi to. This is definitely something she needs work with. Even though it’s friendly, it’s a bit of a disruptive habit. Other than that, she is a great dog. Needs a giant yard or extremely active home looking for a new pal to take on adventures. She’s not the kind of dog that’s going to be happy in an apartment. This girl has gotta stretch these long legs. She’s got a lot of energy but chills HARD once she works it off. I would 100% keep her if I had more space and am bummed she can’t stay here, but the intention in bringing her to Denver was find her a great life with someone looking for a dog. I will be super, super picky about the home that she goes to. Small rehoming fee to ensure she finds the perfect home.
