We’re Hiring! Captains, Boat Guides, Deckhands, Jet Ski Guides, Kayak Guides, and Rental Agents Our company is hiring for multiple positions for our upcoming season, both full time and part time! We offer ecotours focused solely in the 10,000 Islands in the beautiful Marco Island area! Ecotours range from boat tours to kayak tours to jet ski tours, and we also offer kayak/paddleboard rentals for those looking to explore the area on their own. We are a family owned business with a crew of talented, dedicated individuals who are passionate about providing a safe and fun experience. A majority of our current crew has been with us for multiple years as they all have a passion and enthusiasm for the type of work we do. We are open Monday through Saturday, closed Sundays and on major holidays (Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas). We are seeking individuals to join our team who are passionate about the ecosystem and enjoy spending time on the water. Prior knowledge about the 10,000 Islands and Florida wildlife is a plus but we will train. A Florida Naturalist certification or degree in Biology, Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Marine Biology, etc. an A++. Must be able to engage with guests with enthusiasm and problem solve. Current availabilities are below with the minimum requirements and responsibilities. Currently hiring for Full and Part time positions. Must be able to work weekends (Saturday). Must be able to pass a drug test. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities for every position (Paid training is provided) Ability to perform on-your-feet routine physical activity Ability to learn and memorize historical details Ability to be heard in a loud, audible voice without amplification by an audience up to 17 persons Ability to give information during the tour Ability to tolerate a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions Ability to handle stressful situations and difficult people while maintaining a professional and pleasant demeanor Ability to read, write and speak fluent English in order to communicate with the guests Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays Ability to lift up to 60 pounds Captains: Must have a Master Captains License, will operate Carolina Skiff U.S. Coast Guard Inspected vessels that sit 17 passengers, knowledge of the 10,000 Island waterways a plus but will train, knowledge of the ecosystem and wildlife a plus but will train, expect to run 2 - 4 tours daily (times vary) Deckhands: Boat maintenance, tour assistance, cleaning, knowledge of boat or jet ski mechanics a plus Tour Guides (Boat tours): Florida Naturalist, Biology or similar Degree or Prior Knowledge about local wildlife and ecosystem a plus but will train, customer service skills, responsible, reliable, 2-4 tours daily (range in times) Rental Agents: Can lift 80 lbs, responsible for delivering kayaks/paddleboards and assisting guests for launch, assisting kayak guide(s), gear maintenance, customer service, ability to drive a trailer Kayak Guide: Can lift 80 lbs, expect two tours daily, Florida Naturalist, Biology or similar Degree or Prior Knowledge about local wildlife and ecosystem a plus but will train, customer service skills, time management skills, ability to drive a trailer Jet Ski Guide: Prior experience is preferred, expect to provide 3 tours daily, must be able to provide instruction for safety, knowledge of the 10,000 Island waterways preferred but will train, jet ski maintenance
