Page Ahead Children’s Literacy Program: is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to read to Preschool and Kindergarten classes. Story Time Volunteers read books and create simple crafts with kids. Training and materials are provided. This is a wonderful opportunity to share your love of reading with children in need! **Volunteer readers needed for the greater Yakima County area.** WHY DO STORY TIMES MATTER? • Reading aloud to children is a great way to ensure a child’s success in school. • Story Times provide a variety of ways for kids with different learning styles to enjoy books. • Children see that adults from their community value and enjoy books! TIME COMMITMENT Volunteers must be available to go to the classroom at least once a month and must commit for a full school year, 2022 - 2023. Story Times occur during school hours and last approximately 45 minutes. Volunteers remain in the same classroom(s) throughout the school year. All materials are provided. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY Volunteers should be comfortable in the spotlight and enjoy interacting with children.
