We have to rehome our husky/Australian shepherds. We recently went full time liveaboard on a sailboat and they hate it. Ghee is not even 1 yet and he is more protective but loves cuddles and exploring. Bitty is 2 and is happiest when someone is petting her. Both are very bright and love to be the center of attention. They are somewhat trained and know a few tricks. They have not been around other animals but I'm sure they could adapt. They are used to being around children and love them.
