Description

POTTSTOWN, PA — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories. This submission comes from Caulyn Chang, of Phoenixville. Name: Jolie Yeary Martinez and Rae Yeary Leap State: Pennsylvania Home town: Pottstown and Barto Heroes' job: One Spark Fitness business owners Reason for recognition: Jolie and Rae own One Spark Fitness (OSF) and are extremely generous people, whom I'm lucky enough to call friends. OSF opened Nov. 3, 2019 and then had to close on March 16, 2020 due to COVID. During the short time they were open, they had a Women's Empowerment event to benefit St. Jude's Children Research Hospital. They are now helping to combat food insecurity the entire month of October in order to support not one, but two wonderful programs: Clusters Outreach Center in Pottstown and Chester County Head Start Food Project in Coatesville. Head Start is requesting donations of cereal, pasta, pasta sauce, cooking oils and soups while Cluster is requesting personal hygiene products of shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrushes. One thing to know: Jolie and Rae are compassionate and selfless! Thank you for all you do.
