Open Facilities Property Manager & Handyman position at a small private elementary/middle school with a 40,000 sq ft building on 3.1 acres in Annandale, VA. This position will oversee all building and grounds maintenance to create an attractive and well-functioning work/study environment for staff and students. Must be able to perform a wide variety of repairs. This position also ensures the facilities are safe, up to code, and fully operational. The Facilities Property Manager & Handyman will also be responsible for managing contractors, working with third-party vendors, and other duties as needed. Other duties include: -Maintaining a safe and clean environment for all students and employees -Providing regular maintenance and repair for buildings and property -Overseeing functions and processes of facility systems -Coordinating all maintenance issues, and services, and adhering to schedules -Preparing and securing all necessary inspections required for safety and by law -Maintaining proper standards for public health requirements -Assisting with purchases and deliveries -Ensuring all utility systems are inspected and in accordance with regulations -Negotiating bids and contracts for third party workers -Monitor use of building by non-school groups -Assuring the security of the buildings -Keeping all school vehicles properly maintained, equipped, and serviced Candidates must have at least a high school degree, be 21 years of age, and be able to pass a criminal background check. Physical Requirements of the job include climbing stairs/ladders, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted. Prefer candidates with experience in maintenance supervision or facilities oversight. Should be comfortable working with Microsoft Outlook for email and/or Microsoft word/excel. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
