Description

Cumberland County MH.IDD, PULSE, and the West Shore Theatre presents a free screening of My Ascension, a documentary film about Emma Benoit, a 16-year-old varsity cheerleader who attempted suicide leaving her paralyzed. Emma is now on a mission to use her painful experience to help others find hope, and shine light on the fact that 20 young people die every day by suicide in the United States. After the movie, we will be holding a panel discussion with our Cumberland County Mental Health Administrator, suicide attempt and loss survivors, and the Cumberland County Coroner's Office. Movie refreshments will be available for purchase. Registration is required as we are limited to 200 seats. Please bring a digital or printed copy of your tickets with you to the screening.
