Dr. Lynette Thompson and other special education experts will address several topics surrounding best practices, practical strategies, and IDEA guidelines and policy.
Teachers will experience the obstacles faced in the first few days of school, holding their first IEP meeting, MEEGS meeting, writing an IEP in ED Plan, scheduling mulit-level grades and subjects, co-teaching, expectations of the role of special education teacher, the importance of relationships, ideas on how to bridge the gap subject level-standards and where their student is actually performing.
Each participant will have a better understanding of: Disproportionality, End-of-Year Report, Holding IEP Meetings, Discipline, Working alongside Paras, OPRC, FAPE, FERPA, DDSD, ED Plan, Early Childhood Outcomes, Transition Services, Manifestation Determination, Resources, Classroom setup, Scheduling of students, EdPlan and much more.
At the end of this workshop Participants will have the tools and knowledge to navigate the vast jungle of Special Education. Each participant will receive charts, checklist and other items to bring back to their District to assist them starting the new school year.
**Bonus** Each participant will have access to two (2) Zoom Question/Answer Group Sessions in the Fall and two (2) Group sessions in the Spring of the 2022-2023 School year to assist with implementation and problem-solving**
