The Alumni Association is thrilled to host a pre-concert reception featuring SIUE’s very own, Bretty Sheroky, ’06 ’08. A native of Belleville, IL, writer/artist, Brett moved to Nashville in 2009. Working as a speech therapist by day, Brett spent over a decade on the outside of the music scene focusing on the craft of songwriting. That disciplined approach paid off in 2020 when Brett signed his first publishing deal with SeaGayle Music. Still within the first year of his publishing deal, Sheroky's songs have garnered the attention of record labels and their artists. Brett has already landed songs on several major artist's records including Man Made with Granger Smith, Bible Verses with Blake Shelton and most recently with the debut single One Day Tonight with 2022 American Idol winner Noah Thompson. While still writing for other artists, Brett has also been crafting songs for his own artist release. Brett’s sound is dynamic and falls somewhere between 90s country and 70s rock. The reception registration is $10/person, includes an array of appetizers and cash bar and is limited to 50 attendees. The Alumni Association is also thrilled to offer 30 tickets for Brett's show immediately following the reception for an additional $10/person.
