We are looking for an Acoustic Jazz Bassist to practice and become part of a regular group. We are a quintet - 2 saxes (Tenor, Tenor/Soprano), piano, drums, bass. We all have day jobs but are serious musicians. We are rehearsing 2x a month at Michiko Studios - usually on Mondays. We have all played American Song Book / Standards gigs and that's great, but we're looking to play more challenging tunes. We are trying to develop a sound and then go and get some gigs. There is no pay at this point until we gig. Our current focus is on the following tunes Wayne Shorter - Yes or No, Speak No Evil Art Blakey - Backstage Sally Herbie Hancock - One Finger Snap Charles Lloyd - Forest Flower Chick Corea - 500 miles high Tony Williams - Sister Cheryl Coltrane - Soul Eyes
