This session will recap the highlights and takeaways from the NILG Annual Conference: “Be the Beacon of Change.” We will recap important points and answer questions about the shift in priorities and enforcement and other changes straight from the EEOC, OFCCP and Wage & Hour. What are the preventive steps you can take? What are the warning signs? It is not uncommon to see active shooter incidents occurring in schools, workplaces, and venues. HR professionals find themselves at the forefront of preventing, mitigating, and defending against this very human crisis. Come hear Officer Henry Moore of the Little Rock Police Department present up to date information on what they have learned and what you should do to protect yourself, employees and others. Learn practical tips and strategies from this veteran SWAT police officer that could save a life. Learning objectives include: 1. What to look for now to plan ahead. 2. What to do if you or others are targeted by a disgruntled employee or their spouse. 3. What to do and not do during a crisis active shooter situation. 4. What to do after the crisis. Officer Henry Moore, Little Rock Police Department, Emergency Management / Wellness Unit Officer Henry Moore is a 25 year veteran with the Little Rock Police Department. Serving as an Officer, he is assigned to the Emergency Management Unit which is responsible for mitigating manmade and natural disasters in the City of Little Rock. His duties also include training of all sworn officers and recruits of the Department. This includes annual in‐service training, as well as State and Departmentally mandated recertification courses, Career Development courses, legal updates and training with issued equipment. Officer Moore also oversees the Department’s Active Aggressor program. Officer Moore is a member of the Wellness Unit which assist members of the department in critical incident stress for both on and off duty incidents. Throughout his career, Officer Moore has been assigned to various Divisions which includes Training, Patrol, Special Investigations and Special Operations. Additionally, he has served as a member of the Special Response Unit and served with the Special Weapons and Tactics Unit from July of 2000 until July of 2022 and served as Assistant Team Leader from 2018 until 2022. Officer Moore attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He also holds a Professional Police Instructor Certification and a Firearms Instructor Certification from the Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training as well as an Advanced Hostage Rescue Certification from Combat Shooting and Tactics. He is a certified instructor in Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training, Level I and II, Exterior Response to Active Shooter Event, Active Attack Integrated Response and Civilian Response to Active Shooter Event. Officer Moore has received numerous civilian commendations, a Community Service Award a Police Commendation Award, and multiple Unit Commendations. He served as the past President of the Arkansas Tactical Officers Association and is currently the Central Arkansas Regional Coordinator of the Association. Officer Moore served in the United States Marine Corp Reserve having been deployed on several overseas assignments. On April 1, 2018, after completing his last assignment, Officer Moore retired with over 30 years of service as a Sergeant Major with the United States Marine Corps Third Force Reconnaissance Company based in Mobile, Alabama.
