Broward County's District 5 Commissioner, Steve Geller, is making sure that South Florida gets back on the list of being one of the best places to film in the nation. When Commissioner Steve Geller proposed the agenda item to create the Broward County Film Commission, the County Commission agreed it was necessary and the motion passed unanimously on November 4, 2021. The Broward County Film Commission is part of Broward County's Office of Economic and Small Business Development, which is led by Director Sandy-Michael McDonald. Director McDonald has been working diligently to jump-start this program to accommodate the demand for film incentives. Broward County is fortunate to also rely on the expertise of our new Film Commissioner Sandy Lighterman. She is a four-decade film and TV industry professional, capable of further creating a thriving film and television industry in Broward County. Now that we have a new Film Commissioner with a vibrant local Incentive program, we would love for you to come and meet the team and let us share what our intentions are for growing the film industry in Broward County.
