JC's Favorite Boy "Let me tell you about my bestest, good boy Popeye! He was a little shy when I first met him in animal control but after several meetings, I became his favorite & he became mine! He does great on a leash and is great on car rides. He loves to jump in the backseat of my car to go cruising. We usually cruise to the local drive-thru! He does well with the other dogs but also loves to be the center of attention. He is a big boy but is very gentle. Popeye is an awesome combination of calm with a little pep in his step. He's happy running around in the back yard or sitting on your lap in the air conditioner. An adoption counselor will be in contact with you following the submission of your application. If approved, they will arrange a meet and greet at one of our monthly trips to Chesapeake or at our shelter. Visits to the shelter are by appointment only, as we are a volunteer-run rescue organization. All PAWS dogs are spayed/neutered, and current on the vaccinations appropriate for their age. Those who are confirmed over 4 months old or older will have their rabies vaccinations. Age permitting, dogs/puppies are tested for heartworm. All are treated with flea/tick prevention and given internal parasite preventative on a regular basis. All are microchipped (for their safety and the adopter's peace of mind) as part of the adoption fee.
