Beautiful Female Red Tick Hound needs forever family

Description
We have been fostering this beautiful 5 year old girl for a rescue but we need to move out of state and she needs a permanent home. Caroline was taken in after a farm family gave her up because they had too many dogs. She was very emaciated as they used her for her puppies and then did not feed her. The rescue got her to a healthy weight, spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Caroline likes other large breed dogs as long as they are friendly. She cannot go to a home that has cats, ferrets or other small animals, and no birds because of her prey drive. She is good with older kids, she could potentially knock down younger kids because she loves everyone so she starts jumping when she gets excited. Hounds also LOVE food, and Caroline will try to get into cabinets or anything that has food in it if she has a chance. She will need a firm but loving owner who will be patient with her and will gently redirect her when she gets into something. She also has crate anxiety, so it is best if you have a clean basement area or somewhere that is heated and cooled to keep Caroline when you are not home. She would actually be a great dog for a temperature controlled shop as long as she is properly fed and given plenty of love. She does like to follow her nose and sniff around the yard, but seems afraid of loud noises so we don't know if getting her as a hunting dog is best for her. She is pretty good on a leash but she does pull when she sees a squirrel. She will either need a fenced yard or someone who will do a lot of walking with her. She is potty trained as long as she is given several potty breaks. If you feel that you can give Caroline the kind of home that I have described, please email me. I will have some questions for you to make sure she goes to a safe home. Her adoption fee is $150.00 but the rescue is willing to work with you on that. What's most important to them is that Caroline goes to someone who won't give up on her or mistreat her again.
