MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — A full moon most of the time isn't really full, according to Space.com, which notes that "Only when the moon, Earth and the sun are perfectly aligned is the moon 100% full, and that alignment produces a lunar eclipse. What we always see, however, is the same side of the moon with part of it in shadow. The last full moon of 2020 took place on Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 7:28 p.m. December's full moon is known as the Cold Moon and it appeared "full the night before and after its peak to the casual stargazer." Local photographers flocked to the Manhattan Beach Pier and elsewhere in the city to snag some shots. Here are some nice ones.
