Automotive Shop Helper

We are searching for a full-time OR part-time shop helper. You would need to have a basic understanding of cars from the 50's- current OR have an ability to learn and remember well. You would also need to understand automotive shop operations. We expect someone who can remember and complete tasks given, being able to figure out portions of these tasks on one's own. We have experienced mechanics and auto body technicians that you can learn, practice and grow under. We expect you to keep a clean workspace and do clean and neat work. You absolutely cannot move like a snail or be the type that stands around waiting to be told what to do. Carefulness and thoroughness are musts. Basic tasks include: cleaning the shop. Removal and reinstallation of basic parts- tires, wheels etc. Inventory and organize parts and equipment. Cleaning/polishing/sandblasting. Operating shop equipment. Assisting mechanics/body men with their tasks. Car detailing. Running errands and picking up parts. Parts listings is a plus: if you can photograph parts, upload to computer, and list on sites such as eBay that is a preferred plus! Employment requirements are: - Basic Automotive, Detailing, and Tool Knowledge. Must be able to learn and pick up quickly. MUST be careful and tidy!!!! - Basic Classic Car Knowledge- must have enough knowledge to know what is what under a hood in older cars or at least have the ability to learn quickly ( use of shop manuals, diagrams - Attention to detail and thoroughness. - Minor Mechanical and basic service and R&R experience (change wheels, remove carb, strip panels,). - Driver's License and reliable vehicle. - Perform repairs cleanly and precisely! - Independent thinker- must be able to think outside the box and problem solve. - Work well with others and be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
