ELMHURST, IL — In the last few days, Elmhurst police have handled cases involving drugs, burglary, shoplifting, a threatening message, damage and driving violations. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports: Drugs Jeffrey T. Ronowski, 45, of Des Plaines, was arrested about 3:30 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of Fellows Court on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, failure to wear a seat belt, no valid registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. In the same incident, Salena Ronowski, 35, of Des Plaines, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal trespass to a motor vehicle and failure to wear a seat belt. Both were taken to the DuPage County Jail. Salena Ronowski was found to be in possession of two baggies of crack cocaine and a glass smoking pipe, according to a police report. The suspects are married. Andrew M. Bouwer, 30, of Gowen, Mich., was arrested at 9 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of Glenview Avenue on charges of possession of a controlled substance, fleeing and attempting to elude officers, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, criminal damage to property, two counts of disobeying a stop sign and failure to wear a seat belt. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. During a domestic violence investigation, Bouwer damaged a mailbox and sped away from officers who attempted to conduct a traffic stop, according to police. Police said they found a small baggie of cocaine in his car. Burglary A resident in the 100 block of Virginia Street told police that someone entered his house and stole a safe between Dec. 22 and Dec. 27. An investigation is pending. Shoplifting A clerk at Shell gas station, 654 W. North Ave., told police that about 5:30 a.m. Monday, a person removed a bottle of wine without paying for it. The suspect relinquished the bottle and remained at the station until officers arrived. The clerk did not wish to press charges, but requested the suspect receive a no-trespass notice. Threatening message A resident in the 200 block of Oaklawn Avenue told police Monday that a woman had sent her a threatening message. The officer left a message for the woman, telling her not to have any contact with the resident. Damage A person became irate and turned over a kitchen table causing damage about 5 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of South Linden Avenue. The person left before officers arrived. The victim did not wish to sign a complaint. Several cars were damaged between Dec. 25 and Dec. 29 on the west side of the parking lot at the Ray Graham Association, 420 W. Madison St. Attempted burglary Alan Gooden, 50, of Chicago was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of East Fremont Street on two counts of attempted burglary, unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver, driving with a revoked license, disobeying a stop sign and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was released on bond. According to police, the police responded to the neighborhood because of a report of a person, later identified as Gooden, pulling on car door handles. Gooden did not enter any cars before leaving the area. He was later found. Driving violations Lajoi N. Sanderson, 29, of Chicago, was cited about 4 a.m. Tuesday at St. Charles and Route 83 on charges of driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to signal when changing lanes and illegal possession of marijuana by a driver. She was released on bond. Steven Collins, 38, of Chicago, was cited about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Grand Avenue and County Lane Road on charges of driving with a suspended license and no valid registration. He was released on bond. Kelari Goodloe, 23, of Chicago, was cited about 5 p.m. Tuesday at York and Crestwiew on charges of driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving too fast for conditions. He was released on bond. Jeffrey Mustari, 65, of Melrose Park, was arrested about 11 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of North York on charges of unlawful use of a weapon and possession of marijuana by a driver. He was released on bond.Paul Golish, 53, of Harrisburg, was arrested about 2 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of North Willow Road on charges of possession of a controlled substance and no valid registration. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. In the same incident, Joseph Hutchinson, 48, of Harrisburg, was cited on a charge of possession of marijuana. William Hernandez, 20, of Bolingbrook, was cited shortly before midnight Wednesday at Roosevelt Road and Interstate 209 on charges of driving with a suspended license and driving with a suspended registration. He was released on bond. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
