Description
I know this is going to be a longshot.
But I've always admired a lot of artists - primarily coming from post-industrial, goth circles - who've carved out neoclassical, baroque or folk stylings with a sort of darkwave edge. Even teetering on more contemporary music as well.
Ataraxia, Dead Can Dance, Camerata Mediolanense, Argine, Estampie.
I know there has got to be people locally who also appreciate this - and, regardless, I'd like to meet them.
But I'm also wondering if anyone is interested in taking it further and articulating it into music of our own. Been to enough Renaissance Faires to know people do this regularly in one way or another!
I do not require that you have the same exact subcultural background, but I feel as though if we were to match in intent and dynamic, I'm quite open-minded and would like to explore this on a side-basis (I have a lot of current bands and projects I'm working with, one in particular I prioritize above all else). I am entirely open to working with anyone from any heritage or gender, so long as our personalities and work ethics click.
Occasional performance is optional, recording is more of my aim! Even if just to jam out some spirited songs on a porch, I'd find it worthwhile.
I am a drummer and percussionist primarily, who also does vocals and is working with more stringed instruments on a casual basis. I am well-versed with metronomes and, while I am crap at reading music, I pick up on key and pitch quite well by ear.
Anyway. If you have any questions or are intrigued by this, feel free to reach out.
