And you are exactly right. It is a "if we build it, they will use it" mentality. And this approach has worked in every city.
For a multitude os reasons, bicycle sales has hit new records, year after year for two decades. One of these reasons is, more people are opting to bike to local destinations for health, climate and fun.
In certain parts of Europe, like Amsterdam, every human from 5 to 75 rides a bike as their primary mode of transportation. Very few people own cars. Traffic lanes are secondary to bike lanes. These communities have less heart disease, less obesity, less diabetes and much better overall mental health. It is impossible to not have fun on a bike. With the E-bikes, you will no doubt see more and more bike traffic as time goes on.
