Description
Shannon needs help!! She was given a Euthanasia date of 7/25!! SHANNON, (ID #A4754868) is a 3-yr.-old, brindle and gray American Pit Bull Terrier (49 lbs.). She needs: an IMMEDIATE Foster to save her life! to save Shannon’s life! call or text https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/foster/SDN/Dog Shannon was picked up as a stray and loaded into a box on the truck for her ride to the shelter. Not only is the capture and ride a scary experience, upon arrival at the shelter she was given the once over and even shots by complete strangers. Through all this she had a soft, wiggly body and walked to her kennel on leash without issue. She didn't know she was about to be tossed in a kennel for 10 straight days. This was very hard on her!! Shannon was observed pacing back and forth in frustration from being locked up. When she was finally taken out, she initially barked when staff stood at her kennel door, then sniffed at treats However, once she was shown the leash, she settled and was easily leashed. She was finally going to be able to stretch her legs. She was so excited to be free, she pulled hard on-leash walking to play yard. She was bothered by all the barking dogs she could hear, as she had listened to this for the past 10 days. She was anxious and continued to pace and focus on the sound of the other dogs. Although she didn’t approach staff, during her one and only short time out of her kennel, she did allow some brief petting. Shannon would love to have a human family but has no use for other pets. After she was already at the shelter it was somehow discovered that she was involved in an altercation with another dog prior to being picked up. It appears a human got in the way. One needs to be careful when getting in the middle of any argument. All of this time stuck in a small kennel, with loud neighbors, strangers and chaos has left Shannon very stressed. She needs a patient adult home, with a secure yard to keep her safe, She will need ample time to decompress, a predictable routine and some much needed TLC so she can finally relax and enjoy being a dog. to save Shannon, call or text a volunteer is waiting to talk with you! or use the form https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/foster/SDN/Dog
