Description

Multi instrumentalist/writer/arranger/singer looking to put together a band. But obviously it's more than music that is needed. The Sound - First Go Round I'm thinking for starters something like some gritty Wu Tang/Gang Starr type sounds but played by a garage band. Out of tune at times, kinetic, with a weird but big bottom end. Lyrically it'd be like Steely Dan or something along those lines, telling vague stories with specific details. Just spitballing here lol. I doubt there'd be any emceeing per se. I mean, I love hip hop but I'm not gonna try and spit out of respect. At best I'd sing, or try to play with the phrasing of a Ghostface or ODB or hell, even Chubb Rock. Half avant garde jamming over that type of sound, half actual songcraft. Lofty ambitions, huh? Haha. What we'd need possibly: Drums. Maybe an acoustic kit and then someone else on an MPC or something. Maybe a DJ, I mean Stetsasonic did it. Or a digital kit. Bass. Bass keyboards. A keyboard guru/gurette Any other instruments. Oboe, mandolin with a whammy pedal, theremin, anything. Vocals. I don't have to be the main vocalist, or even a vocalist at all. If some man/woman/non binary has a cool, unique voice...come on with it then. Everyone is welcome. Hate is not. Horns, strings..anything. If this ad intrigues you, hit me up. Engineers. Producers. Artists. Effin' click chasers and influencers and promoters. Think you can work with something like this? Get at me. Your contributions are just as vital, and the prize is expression hopefully with some money and travel thrown in. And laughter. This is going to be FUN. Lastly, because I mentioned hip hop and instrumentation doesn't mean this is going to be anything like the Brand New Heavies or whatever (who aren't bad or anything) or some heavy rap-rock crap (which is bad on the whole). We're not hipsters or headbangers, we're hip and we're heads. Drop me a line and let's talk about music. I love a lot of different types from country to funk to jazz to wherever the next rabbit hole is. Be well
